A delicious burger filled with a smashed patty, spicy burger sauce and guacamole. All topped with crispy nachos. The whole family will absolutely love this juicy burger.
Place the 12% fat beef mince into a large bowl. Season with sea salt and black pepper to taste. Gently mix the seasoning into the meat, being careful not to over-handle it.
Divide the seasoned beef into four equal portions. Be mindful not to over-handle the beef; gently shape each portion into a loose ball, ensuring it's not packed too tightly.
Place the beef balls into the pan and place a square of baking paper over each one before using a spatula or press to gently smash it into a patty. Create a thumbprint in the middle of each patty before removing the paper.
Cook the patties on the grill or grilling pan for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
While the burgers are cooking, split the burger buns and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each burger patty to melt.
Assemble the nacho burgers: Spread a tablespoon of jalapeno burger sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a cheese-covered beef patty on top of the sauce.
Spoon a dollop of guacamole over the beef patty and sprinkle crushed nachos on top.
Add a handful of shredded lettuce on top of the nachos.
Place the top half of the toasted bun on the lettuce to complete the nacho burger assembly.
Repeat these steps for the remaining burgers.
Serve the nacho burgers immediately.
Recipe Notes
Handle Meat Minimally: Gently shape beef patties to avoid density and preserve texture; minimize handling.
Layering Technique: Layer burger components for optimal texture – sauce, patty, cheese, guacamole, crushed nachos, lettuce on top to prevent bun sogginess.
Hot Pan: Preheat pan thoroughly for signature sear on beef patties; hot surface maintains juiciness.
